Future Wireless Connected and Automated Industry Enabled by 5G
What is 5GSmartFact?
5GSmartFact is an MSCA-ITN project funded by the EU whose objective is to study, develop, optimize and assess the deployment of 5G networks that target the IIoT requirements (in terms of availability, ultra-low latency, reliability, amount of supported devices, localization accuracy and energy efficiency) in factory environments, and exploit them to integrate factory applications (especially those related to robot-control and robot navigation) which might lead to a complete redesign of networked robot architectures and hence to a leap forward in the industry automation .
News and events
The official project start is 1st March 2021, and is running until end 2025.
The PhD Symposium on Next Generation Networks: AI, Architectures, Interfaces, and Implementations was organized at UPC - Campus Nord (Barcelona) on 13 June 2023, together with IFIP Networking 2023. A total of 39 ESR fellows from 7 different projects participated in the plenary and poster sessions.
New courses are being scheduled in last quarter 2024. Please check in the Training & events link. Open seats are offerered for PhD students outside the project.
5GSmartFact Workshop on Wireless Connected and Automated Industry, to be held in Sept 2024, colocated with PIMRC 2024 in Valencia (Spain).
5GSmartFact has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement ID 956670
